Dr. Daniel Oira Kiage. MBChB; MMed; FCOph[ECSA]; Glaucoma Specialist [Ottawa ,Canada]
Dr. Daniel Kiage is the Founder and Medical Director of Kisii Eye Hospital, a social enterprise that avails high quality eye care services to the South Western part of Kenya. He attended his Undergraduate Medical training and Ophthalmology Residency in the University of Nairobi Kenya. He later proceeded to the University of Ottawa, Canada for a Clinical and Research Fellowship in Glaucoma. He has previously served as a Zonal Eye Surgeon in Nyeri Kenya, Medical Director Lighthouse for Christ Eye Centre in Mombasa Kenya, Head of Section of Ophthalmology in Aga Khan University Hospital – Nairobi [AKUH-N] as well as being Honorary Lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology – University of Nairobi. While at AKUH-N he achieved a rank of Assistant Professor.
Dr. Kiage is the past President of The Ophthalmological Society of Eastern Africa [OSEA], Former Vice President of Africa Ophthalmology Council [AOC] as well as a Member of Board of Trustees for the International Council of Ophthalmology [ICO]. He is the president-elect for International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology [IJCAHPO] and former Chairman of the Nyamira County Hospital Management Board.
He has published 12 articles in peer reviewed journals and presented over 70 papers in major regional and international conferences
He is married with one wife and blessed with two children.
